How do you take the best real estate business and make it even better? Realtor Matt Maloney knows the answer, and he’s doing so by forming a new Matt Maloney Real Estate Group through Keller Williams Realty.
Maloney will operate out of three locations – Munster, Schererville and a “mega agent” co-working office space at 2901 Carlson Drive in Hammond. He said he will be hiring agents to work in his group as it grows.
“The Hammond office is especially exciting, as there is a lot of innovation in that area and different businesses working together in a co-working space,” noted Maloney. “That area is vibrant, cutting edge and ripe for development.”
Previously with Coldwell Banker, Maloney said he’s expanding for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, is to serve his customers better. This will be accomplished via the technology in which Keller Williams has invested.
“Keller Williams, a privately held company, has been able to make moves technology-wise that benefit the agents, which will, in turn, benefit clients with syndications of their listings and advertising,” he said. “Having brokers that work with me who are able to take advantage of leads that come in off of listings will help to hyper-serve our current customers and prospects.”
That technology includes Maloney’s own app and his website. He will also use The Times digital advertising to target certain ZIP codes in Illinois to take advantage of the exodus from the state into Northwest Indiana.
Another reason Maloney is making the change is because he wants to get “out of his comfort zone and continue to grow and evolve.” He added that he wants to keep his service to his customers fresh, staying on the cutting edge of technology.
Maloney is a seasoned real estate professional with a successful track record. He is ranked among the Top 20 Realtors in Northwest Indiana and in 2017, he was ranked No. 1 in Munster and was 18th in sales in Lake County. In 2018 he posted more than $16 million in sales.
He is a former coach of his son’s baseball and basketball teams and a past president of the Munster High School Booster Club. In addition, he is a volunteer board member of the Munster Civic Foundation and sits on the board of the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority, a group that focuses on bringing tourism to and touting the benefits of Northwest Indiana. Maloney is also a member of his local Chamber of Commerce.
A long-time Munster resident, Maloney lives there with his wife, Jeanine. The couple has two children: one who is a student at Indiana University Bloomington and the other a college graduate. Maloney said that now that his kids are older, his complete focus is on the real estate business.
Keller Williams was founded in 1983 and has since become the world’s largest real estate franchise by agent count with more than 1,000 offices and 180,000 associates across the globe. It is also now the No. 1 real estate company in the U.S. in agent count, units closed and closed volume. In 2015, the company delved into technology and now builds the real estate platform that their agents’ buyers and sellers use and prefer.
